Displaying Documents in Gale Virtual Reference Library

This Help topic describes the unique features you'll find on the document display page when using Gale Virtual Reference Library. Click here for a general description of what you'll find on the document display page and how to navigate a document.

The eBook Links allow you to navigate the work itself. You can jump directly to the eTable of Contents, and if available for the current eBook, to the eBook Index and List of Illustrations.

For certain eBooks, you will find a hyperlinked publisher logo on the copyright line which will link you to the publisher's Web site.

If the original article contained a sidebar (notes in the margin), the sidebar material is reproduced within the eBook article in a section labeled "Sidebar" and highlighted in a contrasting color. Click the Hide link to shrink the sidebar (click Show to display it again).

Often you will find links to other, related documents from the same eBook by scrolling toward the bottom of the page.

Use the search sidebar to search within a publication or to cross-search against all editions or all volumes.

The "Other versions linked to this record" box lists updated versions of the content from other editions or supplements. When you are viewing an updated document, a "New" indicator will be present.
