What are Search Limiters?

When performing an certain types of searches and when viewing your results list, you may optionally enter criteria to limit your search results, if available for the database you are currently using and enabled by your library. For example, you may want to search for documents with a specific publication date or only for documents with images. You may be able to set your session preferences so that certain search limiters are checked by default.

Note: For a list of the specific search limiters available in a particular collection, refer to the "Search Limiters in Product Name" topic from the table of contents at the left.

Selecting Limiters When Performing a Search

The search limiters are displayed below the search term input boxes. If the search limiters are not currently displayed, click the Show Search Options link found on the search page. Click the Hide Search Options link if you do not wish to display these options. Depending on the database, your library may be able to configure whether these additional search limiters are displayed by default.
