SPAIN CALLS ON HOLLAND TO UNBLOCK SAA WITH SERBIA
European Report. (Jan. 14, 2009): p241226.
Full Text:

Addressing the Conference of Serbia's Ambassadors, on 11 January in Belgrade, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos urged the Dutch government to enable the implementation of Serbia's Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU. "The governments of the 26 other EU member states are fully committed to the implementation of the SAA and I use this opportunity to call on the Netherlands to revise its decision and make it possible for Serbia's European integration process to be speeded up," Moratinos said. Last April, Serbia signed the SAA with the EU, but its implementation has been blocked by the Netherlands, requesting Belgrade to arrest and hand over the two remaining fugitives (Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic) to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) first.
