Ronnie O'Sullivan, who spent part of the summer in the Priory Clinic, put his troubles behind him to join Stephen Hendry, the defending champion, and Mark Williams, the world No1, as winners on the first day of the Champions Cup in Brighton. O'Sullivan beat John Higgins 5-4.
